The project’s design strategy is a study in contrasts: a mix of efficient planning with exuberant materials and colors and textures; all between planes of cool concrete. ‘We like boxes within boxes, rooms within rooms, the blurring of inside and out, material contrasts and surprising color combinations,’ says Partner Peter Greenberg. ‘This is the essential strategy of Mies’ Farnsworth house – a box of richly contrasting material inside another box.’

Remi featured in AIT
Analogous to the culinary art of the two restaurateurs, she used high-quality, carefully selected, and individually manufactured architectural materials with a focus on their details. These work like the ingredients of a good, simple meal: unfinished perforated aluminium, rough plaster, red MDF installaions, transparently lacquered birch, light-blue curtains and curry-coloured upholstery.

Award Nominations for Two Projects
Two of our projects, Futurice and L.A. Poké, have been nominated by the jury for the Architecture Award Color-Structure-Surface 2021. The Award honors exemplary implemented color concepts in architecture and is given every two years jointly by the architecture journal AIT and the paint manufacturer Caparol. The 2021 Award will be the ninth nominated award competition. A renowned nomination jury has named ten projects in advance that appear worthy of an award in the context of the competition - our projects secured two of the ten nominations.
The Kastle in AD Germany
Our recently completed apartment project is featured in AD's article on the most beautiful kitchens around the globe. From the article: "This Berlin apartment, the pied-a-terre of a traveling couple, is planned as the perfect party venue, as the private spaces can be quite unobtrusively separated from the rest - a single expansive space that includes the kitchen, dining and living areas...And the kitchen counter itself blends elements that are otherwise usually clearly demarcated: The countertop, back wall and the grid of open shelves (continued in the fronts of the base cabinets) are made of the same gray and white terrazzo."
